Mathew "Matt" Martindale

Apr. 11, 1971 - Oct. 9, 2026

BURLEY – Mathew “Matt” Encht Martindale,, a 55-year-old resident of Burley, passed away Friday, October 9, 2026, at Highland Estates, in Burley.

Matt was born on April 11, 1971, in Elko, Nevada. While in his childhood years, his family relocated permanently to Burley. At the age of 18, he married Darla Day. They had two children together, and then later divorced. Matt was involved in a severe motorcycle accident in 1996, and due to the severity of the injuries, doctors did not expect him to pull through. Miraculously, he survived and beat all the odds that were stacked against him by the doctors. Matt suffered permanent brain damage and long-lasting health issues from the accident. This did not stop Matt from enjoying and living his best life. He spent a lot of his time at home with his parents, and enjoyed his weekends with his kids. He was known above all, for all the love he had for his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Keagan Martindale, and Kamree (Raymond) Banyai. Grandchildren, Kalissa, Konner, Clayton, Dallas, and Boston. His siblings, Gabby (Marlin) Hensen, James (Wanda) Martindale, Mark Martindale, along with many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He is reunited in his passing with his parents, John and Else Martindale. Brother, John Martindale. Brother-in-law, Max Hensen, as well as other family members from his parents side of the family.

Matt will be remembered for his caring heart, the love that he gave, his witty sense of humor, and his infectious smile. He truly loved his family, and cherished his children and grandchildren. He will be missed so much. It brings peace of mind that he is no longer suffering, nor in pain, and he was able to go home to be with his parents, whom he truly missed while he was here on earth.

As a family we have chosen to respect and honor his wishes and we will not have a formal funeral service. We love you Dad!

Arrangements have been entrusted in the care of Payne Mortuary, of Burley.
